Troubleshooting

My email account shows an error when I try to read my email. What should I do?

Check the credentials provided to access your email account and reconnect.

How do I know my printer is accessible on the Wi-Fi network?

Follow the directions in your Epson User Manual or the Quick Start Guide.

I can’t find my printer on my wireless network. What should I do?

Please ensure that:
Your Epson printer is supported by PrintJinni for Epson.
The Epson printer has been setup using Wi-Fi guidelines as per the Epson User Manual.
The printer is turned ON.
Your printer is connected to the same network as your Apple iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
If you know your printer’s IP address, it can be entered manually.

I can’t find the printer that I have manually added and validated. Why?

There can be two reasons why you can’t find your manually added printer:
1. You can have a maximum of 6 manually added printers. As you keep adding printers, the newer one replaces the printer added earlier.

2. You have not added the printer as a favorite. If you have not added the printer as a favorite, once you exit the application and re-enter, it will be lost.

Why can’t I preview/print even though I am trying to print a supported file?

Your PrintJinni Services subscription might have expired. Please check the validity of your subscription under “Buy Services”.

When I access a zip folder, some files are displayed in gray. Why?

The files that are displayed in gray are not supported files and hence cannot be printed.

Why am I not able to print Microsoft Office documents, or access the full functionality of the app?

This can occur due to either of the following:
You have chosen to install PrintJinni for Epson in the Limited Use Option restricting its wireless mobile printing functionality.
Your subscription to PrintJinni Services has expired. Please note that you will not be able to renew your PrintJinni Services subscription with effect from November 7, 2012. We recommend that you download and try PrintJinni, which also supports Epson® ESC/P-R® based printers/All-in-ones.

When I type/paste a URL in the address bar to print a webpage and hit go, I get an error. Why does that happen?

Sometimes when you are in an authorized session and try to print, the URL request sent to the web server will get rejected as the logged session cannot be validated and will result in an error.

For such pages, select and copy the content you wish to print from your browser and use PrintJinni for Epson’s “Paste Board” to print.

When I type/paste a URL in the address bar and hit go, it takes a really long time to generate a preview. Why?

You might have checked the option to download background and linked images. Enabling this option will considerably increase the time taken to generate a preview as there is much more content to add to the preview. Uncheck the option and try again.

When I copy some content from a webpage and try to paste the same into “Paste Board”, all the content copied does not get pasted. Why?

Yes, sometimes all copied content does not get pasted into “Paste Board”. Alternatively, if you are in a non-secure session, you can print using “Webpage Printing”.

What if the paper size selected using PrintJinni for Epson does not match the paper in the printer tray?

Open the printer tray, reset the tray slot and replace the existing paper with the required size.

What if the paper size I have is not supported by PrintJinni for Epson?

Print to any size smaller than the paper available in the printer. Else, the content in your document that is beyond the paper size may not get printed.

I have a ‘paper jam’ on my printer. What should I do?

You will need to clear the jam and once that is done, the printer will restart printing. The print job may need to be re-initiated.

Do I need to re-print from PrintJinni for Epson if there was no paper in the printer tray?

This depends on the size of the job. One-page documents should be saved in your printer’s memory and would normally print after a paper reload. For longer documents or color images, they may have to be resent.
